On our door step, the Solomon River, and its nearby tributary, Limestone Creek, are lifelong points of interest and reference for everyone in Glen Elder.
Stories abound from its passing waters, whether they be old men's' or a boys' catfish tales, or reminisces over cups of coffee of the '51 flood, or swimming below the old mill dam. A quick glance between the banks at the water, as one drives over the bridge south of town, reassures passersby with something familiar, yet always changing, always lingering. |
