Genealogical Society
The North Central Kansas Genealogical Society was organized in September, 1977. It is located in the Paris room upstairs in the Cawker City Public Library. The goal of the society is to continue the collection of family histories and records of the pioneers of our area. The society provides information on many counties in Kansas with resources from Mitchell, Jewell, Osborne, and Smith counties, including books, cemetery records, newspapers, and microfilm of some censuses and many indexes.
We have a collection of over 26,000 Obituaries mostly originating in Mitchell and Jewell Counties. Also available are several self help books and books of New England records. Membership in the society is open to anyone trying to preserve our history. |
